Seattle Opera welcomes LEAD Conference attendees to attend a working Dress Rehearsal of Pagliacci at Seattle Center’s McCaw Hall.

Please note: this is a rehearsal, not all accessibility offerings will be available, but please reach out if you have any questions. Email tickets@seattleopera.org.

This production is sung in Italian with English subtitles. The show runs about 2 hours including intermission.  Complimentary access for up to 100 LEAD attendees.

Seattle Opera is striving to keep an open mind to improving and growing in all areas where the company needs improvement including in the accessibility realm. In this opera, which premiered in 1892, there are sections which contain disability mimicry. In this performance a non-disabled artist will be performing these scenes and is mocked by other characters. Seattle Opera will continue to share context and expand understanding for these complex topics.

Know Before You Go

This event requires registration. Seattle Opera will send an email to all registered attendees on Thursday afternoon.

We are happy to have you join our final dress rehearsal of Pagliacci! The rehearsal begins August 1 at 7:00 pm at McCaw Hall. The lobby and box office open at 6:00 pm. Please check your confirmation email to see if you selected will call or digital ticket delivery at tickets.seattleopera.org.

Location: McCaw Hall is located at 321 Mercer Street on the Seattle Center campus, in the shadow of the Space Needle. It’s available by the monorail with a short walk. There is a parking garage across the street and we recommend you purchase discounted parking in advance of arrival.

What to expect: Please note this is a working rehearsal.  While it’s unlikely we will stop, it does happen from time to time. In addition, the cast may not sing at their 100% voice since this is a busy week of rehearsals with opening night on Saturday.

Content Advisory: We strongly recommend all audience members read the content advisory before the performance. In this opera, which premiered in 1892, violence is depicted on stage and there are sections which contain disability mimicry. In this performance a non-disabled artist will be performing these scenes and is mocked by other characters. You can learn more about this in our blog post about commedia dell’arte.

Rehearsal length: 2 hours including a 25-minute intermission

Program: We will have a digital program available at this link by Thursday.
